Havana, Jul 18 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel called on Sunday for the unity of the people in the face of destabilization attempts and ratified the commitment to move forward despite adversities.

On Twitter, the President recalled a phrase of National Hero José Martí: 'Men go in two camps: those who love and build and those who hate and destroy,' and assured that the Caribbean nation 'will continue to build'.

In another tweet, he pointed out that when a population has come so far in realizing its dreams, it is not stopped by violence or hatred.
'By the side of the people, with the people and for the people, continues to be the Revolution. Not with statements, but with deeds!'

On Saturday, thousands of people took to the streets of Havana and other provinces to reaffirm their rejection of attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the island and the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States, considered the main obstacle to the development of the Antillean nation.

In a ceremony held on Havana's Malecon, Diaz-Canel called on citizens to put their hearts into the common work.

Cuba is of love, of peace, of solidarity, and of all those who, wherever they are, work to see it advance with its legs and arms towards a destiny of possible prosperity,' he said.

The head of state also denounced the political communication operation underway against the Caribbean nation, oriented and financed from the United States, which instigated riots in recent days and attempts to distort the reality of the country to influence the international community negatively.
