Havana, July 8 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez toured this Friday the Las Canteras neighborhood in the Havana municipality of Playa, where 1,600 people live.
It is a community in total transformation, with 591 houses, according to the Presidency of the Republic on its Twitter account.
The president began the tour at the "Vilma Espín" school, inaugurated by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro on April 9, 2013. Díaz-Canel also visited the building where the clinic and polyclinic will be located, as well as the ball field.
According to authorities, there are 145 communities in transformation in Havana as part of the Government's prioritized programs for vulnerable areas. Actions include initiatives to bring services closer to the locality, improvements in housing, centers and roads, based on the identification of neighborhood needs.
