Havana, Sep 23 (RHC) In the early hours of Friday morning, the area of low pressure on the southeastern Caribbean Sea gained organization and became Tropical Depression Nine of the current cyclone season.

The system has a central pressure of 1006 hecto Pascal and is moving towards the west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, and higher gusts.

At 5:00 a.m. the central region of the tropical depression was located at 13.9º N and 68.6º W, a position that places it 985 kilometers east southeast of Kingston, Jamaica.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, Tropical Depression Nine will continue on a similar track and speed of translation, inclining its path more to the northwest over the next few days, gaining in organization and intensity, and could become a tropical storm.
