Havana, November 2 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel affirmed Wednesday that the solidarity at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in its condemnation of the blockade evidences the loneliness of the United States in its sanctions policy.

In a message posted on the social network Twitter, the president said that in this morning's session at the United Nations, excellent speeches, devastating arguments and a touching solidarity were delivered.

Díaz-Canel stressed that the loneliness of the United States in its sanctions policy was confirmed, of which the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Cuban people is the longest-standing in contemporary history.

The 77th regular session of the United Nations General Assembly is debating Cuba's draft resolution on the need to put an end to the U.S. blockade, a document that has received the support of regional groups such as Caricom and the Group of 77 and countries such as Vietnam, Russia, Bolivia and China, among others.
