Meeting of Cubans living in Europe

Copenhagen, Nov 14 (RHC) The Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe (ECRE) to be held from November 18 to 20 in Berlin will denounce and condemn the inclusion of the island in the unilateral U.S. list of countries sponsoring terrorism, said the delegate to the forum, Pablo Javier Sosa.

In statements to Prensa Latina, he added that it is important to discuss the issue, given the impact of Washington's measure in increasing the suffocation of the Cuban family, particularly in the financial sector.

In January last year, just a few days before leaving the White House after his electoral defeat, then U.S. President Donald Trump announced the inclusion of Cuba on the list, in order to tighten the blockade.

That decision was maintained by his successor, Joe Biden, despite the non-existence of arguments to support such an aggressive measure.

According to Sosa, as part of the agenda of the three-day meeting, they will analyze the strengthening of the structure, coordination, and functioning of the space that brings together people who do not forget their roots and support their homeland, and the promotion of initiatives to help the island in difficult times.

He also highlighted the debates planned in Berlin on the nation and emigration, a topic focused on improving those links, thanks to which very important steps have been taken, although there is still a long way to go.

The forum's agenda includes the discussion and approval of a final declaration and an act of solidarity with Cuba on Sunday at the famous Brandenburg Gate. (Source: PL)
