Portfolio of Foreign Investment Opportunities

Havana, Dec 5 (RHC) On Monday, Cuba expanded opportunities for foreign capital with the incorporation of new commercial possibilities in sectors such as food production, tourism, oil, industry, and mining.

 

The update of the Portfolio of Foreign Investment Opportunities, approved by the Council of Ministers, opens to commercial exchange more than a dozen business projects focused on construction, transportation and logistics, and sugar agro-industry.

 

Investments in the sectors of renewable energy sources, wholesale and retail trade, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, culture and professional services, as well as hydraulic and sanitary networks, are also favored by the most recent edition of this commercial exchange.

During the V Foreign Investment Forum, developed within the framework of the Havana 2022 International Fair, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, informed that the latest version of the Portfolio of Foreign Investment Opportunities incorporated 101 new projects.

 

"Three of them in the Mariel Special Development Zone", Malmierca emphasized and added that at the same time 71 initiatives were withdrawn and 229 others were adapted, based on changes in the description, modality, and amount of investment, among other elements.

 

As novelties our initiatives were added in the financial banking sector for the authorization of a non-bank financial institution, technological and computerized systems for banking transactions, a corporate investment bank, and investment fund administration, he said. (Source: PL)
