Buenos Aires, August 14 (RHC)-- “Happy birthday to the greatest. I love you and I hope you can celebrate another 100 years of life for the joy of people,” Diego Armando Maradona said on Wednesday on his Facebook page, in his message to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
The former Argentinean football star joins the many congratulations Fidel Castro has received on the occasion of his 88th birthday on August 13th.
According to press reports, Argentina celebrated the “88 years of victory” of Commander Fidel Castro at the Argentinean-Cuban Friendship Center with the presentation of a documentary film.
The Peruvian Solidarity-with-Cuba Coordinating Committee sent greetings to Fidel on his birthday. In a statement, the bloc of solidarity-with-Cuba organizations highlights the historic role played by the Cuban statesman.
The president of the World Peace Council, Brazilian Socorro Gomes, sent a “warm message” of congratulations to Fidel. She pointed out that Fidel Castro is the builder of peace movements and a real example of that struggle in the world.
Meanwhile, the documentary “Caudal de Rio,” dedicated to the environmental thinking of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, was screened on Wednesday in Ecuador.
And from Caracas, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro sent his congratulations to the Cuban leader on the occasion of his birthday on Wednesday.
