The XXVIII South American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba brings together more than 80 friends from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, El Salvador, and Brazil.

Matanzas, Jan 22 (RHC) Cuba is a synonym for strength and principles for Latin American countries and the world, said Senija Belledeli, a Brazilian member of the 28th South American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, which from January 19 to 30 will visit important sites in the Caribbean nation.

After a brief exchange with political and government authorities of Matanzas, the brigade member told the press that she felt great joy and honor to arrive for the first time on the Island and to be able to share with people of extreme solidarity.

We Brazilians especially remember the doctors from the largest of the Antilles, who have done an admirable job in recent years in the South American giant, and whom we are still waiting for with open arms, Senija Belledeli said with great emotion.

During a simple tribute to the victims of the large-scale fire at the Supertanker Base, which broke out in August this year, the Porto Alegre resident commented that, amid the difficult days of the incident, Brazilians expressed their support to Cuba and she especially did it through the José Martí Cultural Society.

The XXVIII South American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba brings together more than 80 friends from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, El Salvador, and Brazil, the latter being the largest delegation with 65 members.

Tania Parra Fonseca, an official of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, said that during the next few days, they will carry out productive work and visit sites of interest, also in Havana and Villa Clara, and will take part in the V International Conference for the Balance of the World.

The activities will be dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of José Martí this January 28, said Parra Fonseca, who celebrated the possibility of resuming this type of exchange, after the distances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years. (Source: ACN)
