Díaz-Canel highlights changes in Cuba's May 1st celebration

Havana, April 26 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Wednesday highlighted changes in the celebration for International Workers' Day, due to the complex economic situation facing the country, especially with fuel supply.

"Instead of the great workers' parade, many voices in more places," the head of state highlighted in his Twitter account.

The president also shared on the social network an article from the Granma newspaper that specifies the changes planned in all the country's municipalities, where small parades or mass events will be held.

In the case of the Cuban capital, the Plaza de la Revolución municipality will be the point of confluence for the central event, which will be attended by residents of four other neighboring municipalities (Playa, Cerro, Centro Habana and Habana Vieja).

Simultaneously, the mobilization will be expressed in social networks with a tweet under the hashtags #Alapatriamanosycorazón, and #1Mayo.

Awards to outstanding workers, international meetings, celebrations in labor and student collectives, and acts of revolutionary reaffirmation, among other initiatives, are part of the activities in Cuba for the International Workers' Day, which will extend beyond that date.    (Source/ Prensa Latina)
