Peace talks between Colombia and the ELN continue in Cuba
Havana, May 17 (RHC) The work of the Peace Talks Table between Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN) continues today in Cuba, after carrying out an exchange of clarifications on the recent interventions by President Gustavo Petro.
The parties will articulate the Mexico Agreement and the set of agreements that have been made at the table with visions and various proposals provided.
They also reaffirmed the political nature of the dialogue table, its agreements and of the ELN as a rebel armed organization, as well as they will continue the development of a joint vision of the conflict and the solutions that the South American country requires.
The delegations of the Colombian Government and the ELN reiterated their commitment to achieve bilateral and national ceasefire agreements in the current cycle, the participation of society in the construction of peace, and the development of joint humanitarian actions and dynamics. In addition, they ratified their firm decision to remain at the table until a peace agreement is reached with the transformations that Colombia needs.
They expressed their gratitude to the people and Government of Cuba for hosting the current cycle of dialogues and joined the global clamor for the United States to stop considering the island as a state sponsor of terrorism. (Source: Prensa Latina)
