Cuba's president urges to promote development in each province

Havana, June 29 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel insisted Thursday in Guantanamo on the need to work responsibly to promote the country's development from each province.

After leading a government visit to the province of Guantanamo (east), the Cuban leader said: "Times are difficult, but we cannot exhaust ourselves and we have a work of giants ahead of us," the Presidency reported on the social network Twitter.

In the concluding meeting of those tours carried out to check fundamental activities for local development, the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, oriented to carry out a thorough review of the development strategies of the province.

The head of government affirmed that the actions proposed do not reflect the problems of the municipalities and the potentialities that exist to solve them.

Likewise, the Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil, affirmed that the population's dissatisfaction persists due to the scarce presence of agricultural products in the markets.

For his part, Vice Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia insisted that there are no productions to support the implementation of the National Program of Food Sovereignty and Nutritional Education.

According to the information offered by the Vice Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo, several medical institutions, educational centers and others were also visited.

Perdomo assured that it is a priority for the province to develop actions with intersectorial participation to reinforce the Mother and Child Care Program.

Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman emphasized water supply as an issue of crucial importance for the population, and recommended making better use of this vital liquid and prioritizing investments for hydraulic development.

At the meeting, Governor Alis Azahares, after commenting on actions to be taken to modify work procedures, assured that the province is in a position to move forward and do things better.
