Havana, September 13 (RHC)-- The recent decision of Cuba to send 165 health workers to Africa to fight Ebola made headlines and was the subject of newspaper columns in Saudi and Egyptian media outlets.
The Saudi SPA news agency said that the Cuban Health Ministry is sending over 160 health professionals to stop the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone.
The wire, based on reports from Geneva, stressed that World Health Organization general director, Margaret Chang, highly appreciated Cuba's support.
Meanwhile, Egypt also stressed the contribution by Cuba to the world campaign against the epidemic that has claimed thousands of people in western Africa.
Cuba is sending the largest medical team thus far deployed against Ebola in Africa, reads an article published on the frontpage of the official Al Ahram newspaper.
The death toll has increased to 2,400 and Cuba is sending its doctors to fight the epidemics, reads a column in the newspaper.
