Addis Ababa, November 19 (RHC)-- Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes arrived in Ethiopia on an official visit, the third stop of a tour of several African countries, the local Foreign Ministry said Saturday.
Upon his arrival at Bole International Airport in this capital, Valdes was received by the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mesganu Arga, who highlighted the construction between the two countries of a solid foundation for a long-standing relationship translated into cooperation in fields such as medicine and education.
During his stay, the Cuban leader will meet with high-ranking officials of the Ethiopian government, the publication said.
Valdés arrived from Guinea Bissau and previously visited Ghana. He stressed in his account on the social network X, formerly Twitter, that "solidarity and mutual respect are the relations that exist between Cuba and this sister nation of the Horn of Africa".
The official Caribbean delegation is also made up of the First Deputy Minister of Public Health, Tania Margarita Cruz, and the Deputy Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Angel Villa.
