The Cuban vice president is in Uganda for the 19th NAM Summit and the 3rd Southern Summit
Havana, January 18 (RHC) The vice president of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, this Thursday stated in Uganda that for the largest island in the Antilles, relations with Africa are strategic.
After thanking the warm welcome given to the Cuban delegation, Valdés commented on the great honor it means to visit that African nation for the second time, now to participate in the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Third Southern Summit.
Upon his arrival in Kampala, the capital, the Cuban vice president announced in his profile on that social network his satisfaction at representing Cuba in both events, in the second of which he will present Uganda with the pro tempore presidency of the Group of 77.
He also indicated that he held a meeting with his host counterpart, Jessica Alupo, and a Memorandum of Understanding on the Promotion of Cleared Trade was signed.
The Cuban vice president arrived at noon, local time, at the Entebbe International Airport where he was received by the Minister of the Presidency, Milly Babirye Babalanda.
