Caracas, September 30 (RHC)-- More than 36 thousand Cuban health collaborators are currently immersed in the second stage of a National Plan against Dengue and Chikungunya in Venezuela.
Nancy Pérez, the Venezuelan Health Minister announced in Caracas that the campaign will be expanded nation wide with the assistance of the Cuban health professionals, who are contributing their expertise.
On Monday, President Nicolás Maduro launched the National Prevention Plan against Dengue and Chikungunya, which will include actions aimed at significantly reducing the incidence rate of both diseases in the South American nation.
According to official figures provided by the country's Health Ministry, a total of 48,827 cases of Dengue and more than 400 of chikungunya have been reported across the country.
