Havana, June 7 (RHC)-- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, wished success to MEP Manuel (Manu) Pineda, in the European Parliament elections that will be held Sunday, June 9th.

In X, the president highlighted the defense of the Spanish activist and politician against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, as well as his constant fight for the right of the people of Palestine to self-determination.

"We wish success to brother @ManuPineda in the European elections on June 9th.  His militant defense against the #blockade of #Cuba, his constant fight for the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the rest of the just causes in the world.   They are admirable."

Belonging to the United Left, Pineda has visited the island on several occasions showing his solidarity with the Cub people, as well as holding meetings with political and government authorities at the national and local level, representatives of the scientific, youth, cultural and civil society sectors.

He has been received by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Revolution; Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, and by Esteban Lazo Hernández, member of the Political Bureau and President of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, among other leaders .
