Demand in Argentina for an end to the U.S. blockade of Cuba

Havana, Jul. 25 (RHC) Members of the Argentine Solidarity Movement with Cuba in the province of Cordoba will reaffirm today their support for the Caribbean nation and demand an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States more than 60 years ago.

Under the slogan "Cuba se respeta", the friends of the island in this area will carry out this day a mural and actions of diffusion on the consequences of this siege and Washington's policy towards the largest of the Antilles.

Tomorrow, at 4:30 p.m. local time, a march is planned from Colón and General Paz to the Agustín Tosco plaza.

These initiatives are in addition to several others that have been organized in this country to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, events that have marked the history of Cuba.

On July 26, 1953, young people led by the leader Fidel Castro (1926-2016) rebelled against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1901-1973), and these events defined the beginning of the last stage of the Cuban independence process.

As part of the activities, on Friday there will be a tribute to Evita, Moncada, the liberated homeland.

The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in this capital city and will be attended by Cuban diplomats, members of the Central de Trabajadores de Argentina-Autónoma, the Movimiento Popular Dignidad and other groups.

The event will be an opportunity to highlight the bonds of friendship between the peoples of both countries and also to remember Eva Duarte de Perón (1919-1952), the standard bearer of the humble and spiritual leader of Argentina, 72 years after her death (Source: Prensa Latina).
