Cuba and DPRK reaffirm friendship on the 64th anniversary of diplomatic ties

Since August 29, 1960, Cuba and the DPRK have maintained close mutual cooperation and agree on international issues

 

Havana, August 31 (RHC) Cuba and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) discussed in Havana the relationship of brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation between both countries, as reported by the island's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez.

Commenting on a meeting held with the Asian nation's ambassador in Havana, Han Su Chol, Rodríguez stated that these ties, forged by historical leaders Fidel Castro and Kim Il Sung, are based on shared principles such as anti-imperialism and defense of socialism.

Last August 29, Cuba and the DPRK celebrated 64 years of diplomatic relations. Regarding the date, the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, sent congratulations to the Workers' Party of Korea and the people of the Asian nation.

Morales ratified on the platform the desire to deepen the historic bilateral ties between political organizations.

Since 1960, Cuba and the DPRK have maintained close mutual cooperation and agree on international issues, including Pyongyang's condemnation of the US blockade of the island for more than 60 years. At the same time, Havana advocates peace on the Korean Peninsula. (Source: Prensa Latina)
