Courses from the UNESCO Transcultura program will be inaugurated in Cuba

The Transcultura program aims at strengthening the capacities of young professionals of the culture of the region and boosting their careers.

 

Havana, September 9 (RHC) The University of the Arts (ISA), in Havana, will host today the opening ceremony of the fifth round of cultural training courses for 72 young creators and students from the Caribbean.

The workshops are sponsored by the Transcultura program, implemented by UNESCO and financed by the European Union, as part of the activities of the Caribbean Cultural Training Pole, created within the scope of this program to strengthen the capacities of young professionals of the culture of the region and boost their careers.

These courses will be offered by the ISA, the Higher Institute of Design (ISDI) and the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, in collaboration with the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts. Each course will be taught in Spanish with interpretation into English for 12 students.

On this occasion, the teaching of Cuban popular dances, screen printing, creation of dynamic images, conservation of paintings and industrial design will be further explored, while on October 7 a new round dedicated to the conservation and restoration of heritage will be inaugurated.

Transculture: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity promotes capabilities and the creation of opportunities through training, support for entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, and the promotion of sustainable tourism for young professionals of the Caribbean culture.
