Havana, December 27 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has condemned the attack carried out by Israel against the airport and other civilian targets in Yemen that left at least six dead and 40 people injured.

In his message, published on the social network X, the top Cuban diplomat strongly opposed the fact that it "caused casualties and endangered the life of the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom," as well as other staff of the organization and United Nations workers.

Following that line, the Cuban foreign minister emphasized that such acts only reveal Israel's true genocidal intentions, which continue to perpetrate attacks against countries in the area.

"Israel continues to take advantage of its international impunity to commit crimes at any point in the Middle East," indicated the high-ranking diplomat in the text.

Today's attacks targeted civilian objectives, including the international airport in Sana'a and the port of Ras Issa.  Similarly, power plants surrounding the area were affected by the aggression.

According to information provided by Al Masirah, the attacks were carried out in two separate rounds, also hitting power plants and ports on the coast, such as Hodeida and Salif.

In light of the incident, the WHO director confirmed that a crew member was injured and that two people died at the airport terminal.

Additionally, he noted that the occupation's attack caused damage to the air traffic control tower, the boarding area (just a few meters from where he and his collaborators were), and the runway.

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already warned of reprisals against the Houthi resistance for launching ballistic missiles into their territory, in addition to labeling them as an extension of Iran.

The Houthis have emphasized that they will not abandon their solidarity with Palestine and the heroic people of Gaza, who resist the siege of the occupation.
