Mexico City, January 21 (RHC-PL) -- Cuba hopes to increase the flow of Mexican tourists and visitors to the island, according to a presentation for tour-operators, travel agents and representatives of airline companies.  Xiomara Martinez, tourism counselor at the Cuban embassy in Mexico City, stated that about 82,342 Mexicans visited the Caribbean island in 2014, placing this country's market as one of the major ones for Cuba in Latin America and the Caribbean.  It's hoped that more tourists from Mexico will vacation in Cuba this year, when more than 300 events, some of them dedicated to Mexico, plus other offers that include numerous Cuban cities, will take place.

She mentioned the upcoming Congress "Pedagogia 2015," which has been characterized by a broad participation of Mexican teachers and academicians.  Two events dedicated to Mexico will be also included on the list -- the Cucalambeana event, in Las Tunas province, and the Film Festival Santiago Alvarez in Memoriam, in Santiago de Cuba, both in the Cuban eastern region.
