Berlin, January 23 (RHC-PL) -- The Cuban government's achievements in public health were stressed by experts in that matter, who are attending the lecture "Neglected Diseases in Latin America," developed at the central House of Democracy in Berlin.

The event, organized and promoted by the Forum of the Americas in Berlin, was conducted by Doctor Werner Wuertele, a member of the organization's presidency, and had the attendance of German physicians, researchers and former collaborators for development, who have worked in Latin American countries.

At the request of Wuertele, organizer of the event, Hector Corcho Morales, responsible for cultural and sports affairs at the Cuban embassy in Germany, exposed achievements of the Cuban healthcare system, like low mortality rates at birth and universal vaccination campaigns.

Corcho Morales stressed that progresses has been possible despite the effects caused in the sector by the blockade the U.S. government has imposed to the Cuban people for more than 50 years.
