Luanda, March 16 (RHC)-- The strengthening of cooperation between Angola and Cuba will be a prime topic in Luanda during the official visit of Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel, slated for March 17 to the 19.

The Cuban official will arrive in Luanda on Tuesday for a three-day visit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola.

The two countries established diplomatic relations on 15 November in 1975 and a year later they signed a General Cooperation Agreement, on the basis of which it was established the Angola-Cuba Bilateral Commission.

On Thursday the Vice-President of the Republic of Angola, Manuel Vicente, granted to the Cuban Ambassador, Gisela Garcia Riveira, an audience where the prospects for greater cooperation between the two countries was also addressed.

Diaz Canel will arrive in Luanda from South Africa, the first leg of a tour of African countries.
