Havana, August 6 (RHC) -- A photo exhibit and a concert are included in a number of activities organized by Cuban youngsters to celebrate the 89th birthday of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro –- commemorated on August 13th.
According to the secretary general of Cuba's Young Communist League (UJC), Roberto Conde, the activities will begin on August 10th, with the opening of a photo exhibit on Fidel Castro at the headquarters of the Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
The expo also salutes the 50th anniversary of the publication on October 21st and the International Day of Youth on August 12th.
Other activities, Conde explained, include mountain climbing, particularly the Turquino Peak, where Fidel Castro's rebel command headquarters was set up during the 1950's guerrilla warfare against the Batista dictatorship.
A concert at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune in Havana, a photo contest and book presentations have been also scheduled by organizers.
