Havana, September 16 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro will travel to the U.S. to present a speech at the UN General Assembly on September 28th, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez announced on Wednesday.

The Cuban head of state will also participate at the September 25th Assembly session, which will be attended by Pope Francis, according to the foreign minister during a press conference where he presented the Cuban annual report on the impact of the U.S. economic blockade on Cuba.

Raul Castro will also hold bilateral encounters with authorities from different countries and will meet with U.S. personalities and members of the Cuban-American community in the United States.

Responding to a reporter's question if Barack Obama and Raul Castro would meet at the UN, Bruno Rodriguez said there is not any planned meeting, but noted that the two presidents will be attending several activities at the same time.
