Havana, November 14 (RHC-PL)-- More than 200 pacifists from around the world will gather in the eastern Cuban province of Guantanamo on November 20th and 21st for the 4th International Seminar on Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases. In statements to Granma newspaper, the President of the Cuban Movement for Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples, Silvio Platero, said delegates will share their experiences on the consequences of the imposition of foreign military facilities in their respective countries. Platero noted that Guantanamo is the chosen venue because it is home to the oldest U.S. overseas military base. He added that the place is the center of permanent actions that violate Cuba's sovereignty and national integrity, international law and the Peace Zone Declaration adopted by the member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States in 2014.
