Vienna, November 26 (RHC)-- Cuba stressed in Vienna the importance of international cooperation in terms of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, specially towards sustainable development.
Addressing a meeting of the Technical Assistance and Cooperation Committee of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Cuban representative Juan Antonio Fernández referred to international cooperation towards achieving the sustainable development goals contained in the 2030 Agenda, which was recently agreed upon by world leaders in New York.
The Cuban diplomat pointed to a need to earmark more resources to the cooperation program and distribute them equitably without imposing any pre-conditions or restrictions that ultimately hinder the program's development.
