Miami, December 18 (RHC)-- Most Cuban-Americans and Cuban residents in the United States favor normalized relations between the two countries, as well as the lifting of the U.S. blockade of Cuba.

A survey conducted across the U.S. by the prestigious firm Bendixen & Amandi, revealed that 56% of those responding to the poll are in favor of normalized ties.

The results of the study, with a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points, were revealed Thursday, December 17th, coinciding with the first anniversary of the historic announcement in 2014 that the United States and Cuba were re-establishing diplomatic ties.

The survey also coincides with Thursday's announcement that the two governments had reached a preliminary agreement on direct flights between the two countries. Unlike American citizens, Cuban Americans are allowed to travel to Cuba, which they do by means of charter flights.
