Havana, May 7 (RHC)-- Participation by more than 5,000 delegates from 59 countries, including more than 15 tourism ministers, at Cuba’s International Tourism Fair this year has consolidated Cuba as a major attraction in the field.
Closing the Fair on Friday night, Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero said the gathering had exceeded expectations in both the number of participants and the interest shown in signing deals with Cuba.
Everybody wants to close some business deal with Cuba, said Minister Marrero, who noted that in the face of such interest, Cuban tourism authorities will have to redesign the organizational layout of the next Fair.
These new circumstances seem also to have been behind the Cuba Tourism Fair coming to an end without the usual announcement by Cuba of next year’s guest of honor at the gathering, which in 2016 was devoted Canada.
