A group of United Nations humanitarian law experts recently denounced the systematic and, by all indications, intentional destruction of the Palestinian educational system in the Gaza Strip that will affect children, adolescents and young people in the short term.of Gaza's schools are completely destroyed by persistent airstrikes.
The Zionist regime's intense bombings against the enclave focused on health facilities, but also against schools, universities and other educational centers, as well as places with extraordinary heritage value that simply disappeared from the map.
A document signed by the specialists indicates that among the immediate consequences, more than 625 thousand students of various levels were left without access to the right to education, which in itself constitutes a war crime.
At least 80 percent of Gaza's schools are completely destroyed by persistent airstrikes, depriving another generation of Palestinians of their future.
There is also a conviction that these attacks are due to cold planning by the Israeli armed forces.
On the other hand, almost 5,500 students, 261 primary and secondary school teachers, and 95 professors were murdered in Gaza, according to the data they were able to collect. Additionally, nearly 8,000 students and 756 teachers were injured and those numbers are increasing day by day.
In addition to the human damage, which is invaluable, the destruction includes libraries and emblematic sites, such as the Gaza Central Archives, where documents bearing witness to more than 150 years of history were stored. The University of Israa, the only one left in the Strip, was demolished by the Zionists on January 17, the text states.
The experts also mentioned that young Palestinians who had international scholarships were prevented by Israel from leaving Gaza to attend universities in other latitudes.
Furthermore, Philippe Lazzarini, UN commissioner for Palestinian refugees, informed the Security Council that after more than six months of incessant bombings, minors are bearing the brunt.
Some 17,000 children are separated from their parents and relatives and face all the horrors of this cruel war alone.
One day, when all the damage caused by the Zionist regime is counted, the brown hordes of German Nazism will turn pale with envy at the magnitude of this barbarity.
