A delegation of Cuban experts tried to be accredited online or the Mobile World Congress (MWC), held in the Spanish city of Barcelona, last February but the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States banned their attendance.

The group included representatives from Cuban IT and Advanced Telematic Services companies, the National Software Company and the Mobile Telecommunications Company. Also planning to attend the event were the University of Computer Science, the Cuban Telecommunication Society and the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba, the latter as coordinator of the mission at the MWC, considered one of the most important event in the world regarding mobile telephony.

The congress is organized by the Global System for Mobile Association (GSMA), which is ruled by or in the interests of the United States, and of which the island is a member through its Ministry of Communications, as stated in Cuba's Report on Resolution 73/8 of the UN General Assembly. "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.¨

However, the Cuban national delegation could not participate in the meeting, as well as Syria and Iran, due to U.S. government regulations, which proves the extraterritorial nature of its increased persecution.

Only from April 2018 to March 2019, this blockade has caused losses to the Caribbean nation of 4.343 billion dollars, which is equivalent to a halt to the development of the national economy's potentialities.

]At current prices, the accumulated damages during almost six decades of application of this genocide have reached the figure of 138.843 billion dollars, although it is higher if we take into account the depreciation of the dollar against the gold value in the international market.
