Havana, February 3 (RHC) -- Renowned Cuban trumpeter and composer Yasek Manzano arrived in France this week to hold a concert.
The unique jazz performance will be offered in the town of Enghien-les-Bains, located 11 kilometers from Paris, with the promotion of the picturesque commune’s Arts Center. The presentation of the artist trained in Cuban conservatories and New York’s Juilliard School, where he was a student of prestigious US musician Winston Marsalis, will take place next Saturday night. Manzano's program includes well-known pieces of his extensive repertoire, such as Conde, Mañana de Luna and Congo para mi Abuela, in addition to the popular El Manicero by Cuba's Moisés Simons, and Bésame Mucho by Mexico's Consuelo Velázquez. In the performance, the virtuoso trumpet player, who has been on prestigious stages with legends such as Marsalis, Chucho Valdés, Bobby Carcassés and Roy Hargrove, will be accompanied by a piano, bass and drums trio.
