Cuban jazz pianist Roberto Carlos 'Cucurucho' Valdés
Havana, May 7 (RHC)-- Cuba’s record and musical editions company EGREM continues promoting tracks from the latest album by jazz pianist Roberto Carlos ‘Cucurucho’ Valdés, entitled ‘Con los Pies en Mi Tierra’.
EGREM released the seventh track ‘Rareza de Siglo’ on social media, as it has become costumery now due to the epidemiological situation generated by the Covid-19 pandemic and the impossibility of holding live, in-person performances.
‘Con los Pies en Mi Tierra’ had its world premiere in the framework of the 33rd International Jazz Plaza Festival.
It includes tunes composed by Cucurucho himself and others by such renowned Cuban composers as Eliseo Grenet, Sindo Garay, Jose Dolores Quiñones and Cucurucho’s grandfather, maestro Bebo Valdes.
The album was recorded at Areito studios of EGREM.
Other young talented artists who collaborate in this latest album by Cucurucho Valdés include percussionist Yaroldy Abreu, drummer Rodney Barreto, bassist Fabian Garcia, trumpet players Julio Padron and Alejandro Delgado and singer Geidy Chapman.
