Cuban film 'The wisper of the leaves'
Havana, June 7 (RHC)-- The Cuban film ‘El susurro de las hojas’, by filmmaker Amir Aether Valen, represents the country at Sheffield DocFest, in the United Kingdom.
The film by this graduate from the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños, develops in a Cuban rural area. It deals with loneliness, the acceptance of death and the human spirit. The Whisper of the Leaves is a careful and tender meditation on the interconnectivity between the human spirit and other forms of life.
The 28th edition of Sheffield DocFest began June 4th and runs through the 13th with the exhibition of more than 150 audiovisuals from around the world, including 55 world premieres.
Sheffield DocFest is an international film and arts festival and marketplace, with a mission to spark imaginations and empower people’s capacity for change by celebrating, championing and debating documentary film and art as a collective form of engagement.
The 2021 Sheffield DocFest Arts Program includes a range of activities, from exhibitions and talks to events and new commissions. Supported by Arts Council England, the event aims to bring the contemporary arts sector in the UK into dialogue with a wide scope of international artists’ reflections and contexts.
