Renowned American public relations expert, model and TV star, Paris Hilton, is visiting Havana 54 years after a Hilton hotel was nationalized in the Cuban capital.
The heir to the US hotel empire published in Instagram her photo in Old Havana’s San Francisco Square. In the Cuban capital, she coincided with British top models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, who are attending the International Havana Cigar Festival. The Hilton Hotel opened in 1958 in Havana, and a year later Fidel Castro established his headquarters in it for three months, following his triumphant entrance to Havana in 1959 after overthrowing dictator Fulgencio Batista. The Hotel was nationalized in 1960 and is currently known as Habana Libre (Free Havana).
