The Spanish version of the biography, Raúl Castro, un hombre en Revolución (Raúl Castro, a Man in Revolutionary) by Russian writer, Nikolai Leonov, was launched to Cuban parliament members in the Cuban capital’s Conference Center.

Published by the Capitán San Luis Publishing House, Raúl Castro, a Revolutionary Man, should be reportedly read as a biography of a destiny, including the developments that led to the beginning, development and updating of a revolutionary process and give account of Raúl Castro’s participation on the island’s emancipating struggle, the building of a socialist country, the establishment of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and as Cuba’s President and Party leader over the past few years. The book is also a testimony of a long-lasting friendship between Raúl Castro and Nikolai Leonov, born when Castro visited the Soviet Union for a conference in 1953.

During the presentation, it was reportedly known that Leonov wrote the book “motivated by his historical and perspective knowledge of the Cuban reality and because of the need to present current and future generations of readers the most authentic image of the man whom Fidel Castro has constantly received support from and whom he has infinitely trusted.”

With a vast history as Soviet government official and academic merits, Leonov has a Doctor’s Degree in Historical Sciences and has published a biographical essay on the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro. Cuba has been awarded him Leonov with the Ernesto Che Guevara Order.

The Russian version of the volume was recently launched at the Russian Foreign Ministry and the State Duma.
