A British Sport Film Festival kicked off in Havana as part of the British Culture Week in Cuba.

Opening the event was the film Shooting for Socrates, directed by James Erskine, dealing with the story of the soccer game between Brazil and Ireland during the 1986 World Soccer Championships highlighting the skills of Brazilian soccer player, Socrates de Souza.

The Cuban capital’s Infanta movie theater is the venue of the festival dedicated to sport in which six films on soccer, rugby, equestrian sport, track and field and other sports are being screened.

Graduation of the Year is another movie in the festival that not only features the story of David  Beckham, as well as how another five soccer players from his generation: Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phil and Gary Neville were able to succeed at the legendary English Manchester United Club.

The festival is only a simple of the wide program of the 4th British Culture Week in Cuba, which also includes music shows, concerts, visual art exhibitions and historical presentations.
