Paris, 17 feb.- (PL) Cuban high jumper Luis Enrique Zayas is celebrating his second victory in indoors contests in Europe, after winning the Val de Reuil athletics meeting in France.
Zayas, who had won the Banska Bystrica tournament in Slovakia a few days ago with a 2.33-meter jump, could not approach that height now, but jumping over 2.24 meters was enough to win the gold medal.
The 22-year-old Cuban jumper was followed by Mexico's Edgar Rivera (2.21 meters) and France's William Aubatin (2.18) in the second and third places, respectively.
This is Zayas' second victory. He also leads the world ranking in indoors events of the World Athletics, formerly IAAF, with 2.33 meters.
