Cuba vs Mexico in women's frontenis

Havana, September 16 (RHC/JIT)-- The women's frontennis pair has been the best for Cuba in the VII Fronton 30 Meter World Cup, held in Valencia, Spain, by qualifying for the semifinals.

After losing to the favorite duo from France, Cubans Daniela Darriba and Yasmary Medina defeated on Wednesday the Chilean pair 15-12 and 15-10 to place among the first four of the championship.

This Friday, the Cubans will dispute the pass to the final match against Spain, leader of the B key, and on Saturday they will look for the gold or the bronze, depending on the first outcome. The other semifinal will be played by Mexico and France. It must be said that Cuba's women do not start out as favorites in any case.

On this day, the Cuban delegation concluded the preliminary phases in the individual rubber paddle.

In the men's section, Jhoan Torreblanca lost 12-15, 5-15 to France's T. Pucheux and his team. Pucheux and his team finished fourth in group A with a 1-3 balance. In the women's division, Darriba defeated Rangel in two sets (15-8, 15-10) and his team finished third in group A with a 1-2 balance.

The most discreet performance was in the men's frontennis, as Torreblanca and Fernando Gómez García lost today by far to the Aztec stars Cerecero and Pérez, with scores of 4-15 and 5-15. After this outcome, the Cubans are at the bottom of the key with 0-3, in the absence of a match against Costa Rica this Thursday.

This lid welcomes delegations from 12 countries and grants quotas to the Pelota Vasca Absolute World Championship in France 2022, and to the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023.
