Havana, July 24 (PL)-- Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) pedaled this Sunday without pressure under the protection of his decisive advantage in the individual general classification to win for the second consecutive year the Tour de France, which completed its 21st and last stage.

In the final stretch of the 110th edition of the Grande Boucle, Belgian rider Jordi Meeus (Bora Hansgrohe) won on the emblematic Parisian avenue of the Champs Elysees, depriving his compatriot Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) of winning his fifth stage of the Tour 2023.

For his part, Vingegaard arrived calmly and accompanied by his teammates more than two minutes later, reassured by the more than seven minutes he had taken before the start of Sunday's 115.1-kilometer ride to his great rival and runner-up, Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), the starter in 2020 and 2021.

The Dane finally retained his crown with a seven-minute, 29-second gap over Pogacar, while Britain's Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) finished third in the battle for the yellow jersey.

Team Jumbo-Visma dominated the Grande Boucle, despite UAE Team Emirates' late stage discount, which finished seven minutes and 13 seconds back.

In the mountains, Italy's Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) won with 106 accumulated points, followed by Austria's Felix Gall (92) and Vingegaard (89).

As for the green jersey, its undisputed owner was Belgian sprinter Jasper Philipsen, with 377 points, 119 more than Denmark's Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek).
