Havana, November 7 (JIT)-- The Cuban delegation that will participate in the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games arrived early Tuesday morning in Chile.
The group of athletes, coaches and directors includes representatives of para-athletics, para-judo, parabadminton, para-cycling, powerlifting, para-archery, para-swimming, parataekwondo and para-table tennis, as well as medical personnel and journalists.
Upon arrival at Arturo Meriño Benítez airport, the group experienced cool temperatures, as the thermometer read 10 degrees Celsius.
The three para-athletes did not arrive in the group, due to the lack of guarantees of a venue to continue the final touches to their preparation, they will arrive in later days.
The journey was delayed due to two technical stops in Santo Domingo and Lima, before landing in the Chilean capital.
In spite of the fatigue, the harmony in the group and the joy of being in the games prevails, the camaraderie and the collaborative spirit among them is remarkable: the sighted are the cane and guide of the blind and those who can move without impediments serve as support for those who cannot.
This Tuesday the athletes will rest and will continue their preparation in the following days after recovering from the trip.
