Havana, Aug 25 (RHC) The Cuba U-12 baseball team won Sunday against Colombia in the 12th Pan American Baseball Tournament taking place in a stadium of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic.
The team of the Caribbean nation led by Vladimir Vargas won comfortably four runs to one.
In this way, the Cubans have three victories in as many outings in the Pan American children's baseball event, in which 12 countries are participating.
Prensa Latina news agency reports that, the day before, the little batsmen won 13 runs by eight against their Venezuelan counterparts and in their first presentation last Friday they won 8-0 against Puerto Rico.
Tomorrow Monday, starting at 09:30 local time, Cuba will face Aruba.
The tournament, which will run until August 29, features the Dominican Republic, Mexico, the United States, Haiti, Aruba and Guatemala in Group A, while Group B includes Panama, Cuba, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.
The Dominican Republic is the current champion after defeating Panama 8-0 in the last edition (Source: Prensa Latina).
