Austin, October 3 (RHC)-- Renowned Black activist Angela Davis has suggested a protest vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election would amount to narcissism, saying that the threat of a Donald Trump presidency is just too grave.
At the Black Studies Conference at the University of Texas, Austin, the U.S. political activist, scholar, and author Angela Davis told attendees: "I have serious problems with the other candidate, but I am not so narcissistic to say I cannot bring myself to vote for her."
The political icon and former U.S. Communist Party leader had previously said she won't endorse any candidate. However, this weekend, she emphasized the importance of the upcoming election and called on the audience "to stop Donald Trump at any cost," saying that "too much is at stake to not vote." Angela Davis said: "Too much energy went into the struggle for voting rights not to go to the polls."
Hillary Clinton and Trump are considered the two most disliked candidates in history, a fact that some analysts have said will scramble the presidential race as some voters seek alternatives, like Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
