Beijing, May 31 (RHC)-- Bolivian Minister of Foreign Affairs Fernando Huanacuni Mamani has met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi – during a three-day visit – to discuss President Evo Morales' upcoming state visit. "Few days are left for the visit of President Evo Morales and we have very important expectations about the future because we are moving from bilateral relations to strategic cooperation," Huanacuni said during the meeting with Wang at the Chinese foreign ministry.
Evo Morales is scheduled to visit Beijing next month and will hold discussions relating to bilateral ties between the two nations. “Our countries have maintained good relations, and I hope President Evo Morales's visit will strengthen such relations by welcoming a new beginning as well as new opportunities for our bilateral ties going forward," Wang said.
The trip will mark Morales' fourth to China since 2006. "China and Bolivia share a great prospect for further cooperation and our bilateral relations will elevate to a strategic one during President Morales's visit. For us, this will not only increase our cooperation in trade, but will also help us improve the geopolitical condition in the region,” Huanacuni added.
The minister took time to thank China for continued support, adding that Bolivia is eager to work with the Belt and Road Initiative and promote China-Latin American Relation. "China and Bolivia are good friends and partners. China would like to maintain high-level exchanges with Bolivia to guide the development of bilateral ties, expand practical cooperation and enhance coordination on the international stage," said Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying after the meeting.
