Brasilia, May 23 (PL-RHC) -- Brazilian President Dilma Roussef has regained people's backing over the past few weeks with 40 percent of voter intention, which would apparently secure her re-election in a first round on October 5th.
According to a survey carried out by Ibope pollster, Rousseff's backing grew by three percent against a previous poll by Datafolha, thus leading surveys for the next elections.
She leads her nearest rival, leader of the Brazilian Social Democrats (PSDB), Senator Aecio Neves, by 20 points.
President of the Socialist PSB, Eduardo Campos ranks third with 11 percent of people's support, or five percent over the previous Datafolha poll.
In a runoff scenario, Rousseff would be re-elected with 43 percent of votes against Neves' 24 percent. The survey also found a drop from 37 to 24 percent of those who would vote null and void in the October elections.
