Trump hires more lawyers and faces business-related legal problems
Miami, February 1 (RHC)-- Former U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed new defense lawyers after five members of his previous team left just one week ahead of his impeachment trial. Trump reportedly wanted his attorneys to argue there was mass election fraud and that the election was rigged, so they quit.
Donald Trump faces one charge of “incitement of insurrection” for the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.
In other Trump news, a New York judge ordered a tax law firm to hand over documents related to their work with the Trump Organization to the state’s attorney general, Letitia James. James’s office is investigating whether Trump’s businesses made false claims about the value of their assets in order to receive tax breaks and secure loans and investors.
