Lima, April 1 (RHC)-- The third day of the presidential debate in Peru ended this Wednesday with the participation of six candidates who presented their government proposals based on five key issues, measures against the pandemic, education, security, public integrity and the fight against corruption. 

Organized by the National Jury of Elections, the debate was the last on the electoral calendar, after the first two were held on Monday and Tuesday.  During three days, the 18 presidential candidates presented their main government proposals.

In this third exchange, candidates for the presidency of Peru took part: Rafael López Aliaga of Renovación Popular, Yonhy Lescano Ancieta of Acción Popular, Julio Guzmán of Partido Morado, Daniel Salaverry, of Somos Perú and Rafael Santos, of Perú Patria Segura. 

The debate was held in person, only with the virtual participation of the candidate for the Renacimiento Unido Nacional party, Ciro Gálvez, due to his convalescent state after contracting COVID-19. 

The presidential candidate for the Somos Peru party, Daniel Salaverry, promised to exonerate from debts and fines the small and medium enterprises (mypes) of the country, to invest in medical infrastructure and to accelerate the vaccination process against COVID-19. 

"We are going to give general amnesty for debts and fines of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) (...). Let's give oxygen to the Pymes and allow them to reactivate," he expressed.  At the same time, he promised to give economic support to 8.5 million families.
