La Paz, April 8 (RHC)-- The Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration of Bolivia, Benjamín Blanco, reports that the country will soon receive a new batch of Sputnik V vaccines to fight the coronavirus.
"About Sputnik V, which is with the Gamaleya laboratory, through the Russian investment fund, we are already agreeing on the shipment in a few more days, in this week, maximum until the end of the week, of a batch. We still do not have an exact number of doses, in fact the first doses that would be arriving to our country. We would be reinforcing our vaccination plan", said the official in an interview to Bolivia TV channel.
According to the deputy minister, the delivery is a batch of six to eight containers that will arrive from Moscow through the international package delivery service DHL. He noted that there are contracts and agreements in place to guarantee the arrival of more than 15 million vaccines. One of these agreements is with the Covax mechanism, which plans to send a new batch to the country, possibly in May.
