Strike Committee calls on the people to reject Duque and take Bogota
Bogota, June 9 (RHC)-- In Colombia, the National Strike Committee has called for the great takeover of Bogota this Wednesday as part of the social mobilizations in rejection of President Ivan Duque's economic agenda and against the repression by the Mobile Anti-Riot Squad (Esmad) against protesters.
The collective, made up of trade union, student and other organizations, announced the great takeover of Bogota after the refusal of the government to sign the pre-agreements on the guarantees for social protest and to move towards the negotiation of the list of demands.
According to the organizers of the march, the mobilization is scheduled to start at 10:00 (local time) from the National Park of the Colombian capital.
The refusal of the Duque Government led to the suspension of the dialogues and meetings with representatives of the Strike Committee that sought to put an end to the social crisis in the country.
Representatives of the Strike Committee announced that they will hold a meeting with members of an international human rights organization in Bogota and the city of Cali, epicenter of the protests against Duque.
The international human rights commission indicated that next week it will deliver its reports on the situation that has been experienced in the country in the midst of the protests and its reasons for continuing with them.
