La Paz, June 21 (RHC)-- The former Minister of the Government of Bolivia, Carlos Romero, revealed through a video posted on his official Facebook account, that in the midst of the illegal coup d'état led by ultra-right-wing sectors, plans were in motion to kill then President Evo Morales.
In the FB message, the Bolivian politician affirmed that there was a plan to physically eliminate the former Bolivian president, with a police officer apprehending Evo Morales with the express order to kill him.
"The Bolivian Police had already been insubordinate to the Minister of Government and the de facto president, not only through the police riot but long before, when the police controls in the framework of the electoral security were easily exceeded, allowing that in many cities the electoral tribunals were set on fire," said Carlos Romero.
Romero added that the opposition and the Police coordinated a plan to provide security to "the political leaders of the right wing coup plotters and conspirators," as well as the protection to the elected governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, so that he could deliver a letter of resignation to Evo Morales in the Government Palace.
The former Minister of the Government of Bolivia specified that the escort of the far-right activist Luis Fernando Camacho "was defined by the Police outside the Ministry of Government and eluding a commission of four ministries with authorities who were at the airport."
On November 8, 2019, several police units joined the protests against Evo Morales, which denounced the coup attempt, also headed by Bolivian politician Jeanine Áñez.
